Shipping and Return Policies
OUR RETURN POLICY
If you are unsatisfied with your purchase from The Curtain Shop you have up to 30 days from receiving your shipment to return the merchandise for a full refund minus the shipping charges.
If your order qualified for free shipping we will charge you actual shipping charges for return; if you paid for shipping, we will deduct actual shipping cost from your refund. Your unused, unwashed return must include ALL product packaging, inserts and ALL tags still attached to the item. Merchandise that is not carefully repackaged may be charged up to 20% processing fee. DO NOT TAPE, STAPLE, FOLD, OR WRITE ON ANY PRODUCT PACKAGING OR INSERTS. Your refund will be issued to the same credit card or Pay Pal account in which your purchase was made. Discounts are not refundable, and if you return part of an order causing your order to no longer qualify for a discount, the discount will be deducted from your refund.
YOU MUST FIRST CALL US (toll free)to receive a “Return Authorization Number”, and you will be instructed to note the Return Authorization Number clearly on the outside of your returning package. You will be given an address in Raleigh NC for your returning package. A copy of your invoice must accompany your return. We strongly suggest using a return shipping method that can be tracked. If you do NOT acquire a Return Authorization Number prior to returning your package, either a substantial restocking fee will be applied against your refund, or your return may be rejected and returned to you at your expense.
Your return may, at our discretion, be rejected and returned to you or you may be charged up to a 20% processing fee if any of the following apply:
- Return Authorization Number is missing
- Merchandise is used or washed
- Packaging is missing or damaged (taped, torn, stapled, or written on)
- Merchandise is not neatly folded and replaced in its original package.
- Inserts or photographs are missing
- Product tags have been removed
CUSTOM, SPECIAL ORDER, and CLEARANCE MERCHANDISE ARE NOT RETURNABLE, except for defect in workmanship. Orders for fabric by the yard cannot be cancelled once fabric is cut. Fabric by the yard is not returnable.
If you refuse any shipment from us that you did not previously cancel your refund will be reduced by the actual shipping charges we incur.
DROP SHIPPING: Some items are dropped shipped. If your order is drop shipped and we made an error (wrong size or color), or product is defective, please notify The Curtain Shop toll free before you ship so we can provide arrangement for your free return. At your preference, we will either replace or refund your order in full. If you return (or refuse) a shipment from a drop shipper WITHOUT our authorization, a re-stocking fee of not more than 15% will be charged against your refund.
If you need to cancel an order call us toll free. Do not rely on email unless you have received email confirmation of cancellation from us.
The Curtain Shop is not responsible for pricing errors, and reserves the right to cancel orders arising from such errors. The Curtain Shop is not responsible for changes in dye lots over multiple orders, as dye lots can change over time and is beyond our control.

Most items are in stock and can ship next business day. Custom made products and out of stock items may take from approximately 4 weeks or occasionally longer. Please call us for availability. We will always do our best ship as soon as possible, and will keep you updated regularly.
We ship mostly by USPS Priority Mail and UPS Ground may be used for larger packages; we will email your tracking number so you are always informed about your order. We reserve the right to select a preferred shipping carrier. If you require a specific carrier please include the information in the Merchant Note section of your order at check out. Additional shipping charges may be incurred.
